RULES

Please no food or drink in the library.

Student library access during class periods requires a signed note or being there with your class.

Student identification number is your library number. Please memorize it for use when borrowing materials from the library.

Please use patience and courtesy when requesting materials.

The library staff includes the librarian and student library aides.

The library is a quiet zone to allow for reading, writing, and studying.

Computer use to accomplish school projects is given priority.

Recreational computer use is permitted if the computers not needed for school projects. Game downloading to the hard drive or network drives is prohibited (Student AUG) and will result in the loss of computer privileges.

Monday -Friday 7:15 - 2:45 (often later)
CARD CATALOG AND SHELF CLASSIFICATIONS
Fiction: F or Fic and the first two or three initials of the author’s last name For example: F Fic Ki (Stephen King) Ste (John Steinbeck)
Short Stories: SC and the first two or three initials of the author’s or compilers last name For example: SC As (Issac Asimov)
Non-Fiction: Dewey Decimal Number and first two or three initials of the author’s last name For example: 609.73 (Technology’s Past Ka by Dennis Karwatka)
Individual Biography: 921 and first two or three letters of the person’s last name
For example: 921 (King of the World by Ali David Remnick) (A biography of Muhammad Ali)
Reference Books: The letters REF or just R will be above the Dewey Decimal Number
Adopt-A-Books: The letters AB will be above the Dewey Decimal Number
Classics or Superintendent’s Collections: These will not have a number designation but will be arranged alphabetically by author in the first column of shelves by the computer corner.
